GLP Guidebook

A GLP Guidebook is available online to all GLP students after they attend a Welcome Session. The guidebook is an essential resource for students and includes important information such as:

Chloe

Chloë Spackman

Chloë holds a Bachelor of International Communications, Master of International Relations and a Certificate in Spanish and is a member of the Golden Key International Honours Society and Chatham House Royal Institute of International Affairs. After a brief stint pursuing a career in dance she travelled to the United States to study journalism and worked as a conservation volunteer in Central America. She has done voluntary communications for a Zimbabwean community development NGO and has worked in Mexico as a business development volunteer with a government agency assisting artisans of traditional Mexican industries. She has been a contributing online writer for a variety of Australian NGO's, a writer and distribution officer on the Young UN Women Newsletter Working group and a blogger for Oxfam Australia's 3 Things campaign. She is currently studying Brazilian Portuguese and a Postgraduate Certificate in Social Impact through UNSW and is a contributing writer for Rare Birds: Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs.

Anneke holds a Bachelor of International Studies (languages) and a Master of International Social Development. She has undertaken both a high school and university exchange to France and a short-term exchange to Mexico. She has been a Youth Leader in the Australian Youth Development Program, developed leadership content for Young UN Women Sydney outreach forums and has both volunteered and led volunteer programs in grassroots and International NGO's in France, Mexico, Vietnam and Australia. She has undertaken an Australian Volunteers International (AVI) Team Leader position in the Philippines, founded an Amnesty International chapter and speaks both French and Spanish. You may also see her around campus with a little, blond side-kick - that's her son, Hugo.

Caroline holds a Bachelor of International Studies in European Studies and Spanish and a Master of Higher Education in Leadership and Management. Caroline completed the GLP during her time at Macquarie University, and participated in both a short-term and full semester exchange program in Mexico. Prior to starting her university studies, Caroline worked in both Real Estate and Retail Management. She has worked in Higher Education for the last five years and started her University career in Student Services, but has spent the last three years working as a Study Abroad and Exchange Coordinator. Caroline has experienced firsthand how formative overseas programs can be for students, and how much of an impact these continue to have after returning home. She feels strongly about social justice and human right's issues, and has volunteered with both Oxfam Australia and the 'Human Rights in Latin America Film Festival'.  Her passions include travel and experiencing new languages and cultures.

Emily holds a Combined Bachelor of International Studies and Bachelor of Laws degree from The University of Sydney. During her studies, Emily volunteered with the Australian Lawyers Alliance, Amnesty International Australia, and the Federal Court of Australia's International Programs Unit. As part of her law degree, Emily undertook a clinical placement with the Public Interest Law Clearing House, working on various ongoing projects at the organisation and undertaking research on animal rights law in Australia. She has worked as a tax consultant, in various roles within the Australian Public Service, and as a paralegal in private practice.

Clare holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Sydney and a short course in Event Management. While studying she volunteered for the University of Sydney Compass Program, providing literacy support to children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds and recently immigrated families. She has also volunteered in Nepal in a children's home, teaching English and delivering educational programs. She has organised fundraising events for not-for-profits that work with the rights of Nepalese women and girls affected by sex trafficking and monthly speaker events at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney through her work with Vibewire, a not-for-profit youth organisation that supports young people to shape their world through social engagement, entrepreneurship and events. She has recently started volunteering for Australian Refugee Volunteers. She is currently studying a Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Studies (International Education).

Jeanette holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations and Media, Culture and Communication from Macquarie University and a Diploma in International Communications. She also successfully completed the Global Leadership Program during her time at Macquarie University attending the domestic and international Symposia, to Canberra and Brazil. Jeanette volunteers at the Mitchell Youth Leadership Forum, was President of the Macquarie United Nations Society, competed in nine Model United Nations conferences internationally and domestically, and wrote climate change policy recommendations to the federal government after being selected to attend the National Youth Conference.

Alisha holds a Bachelor of Business from University of Western Sydney. She has over 10 years experience in event management, project management and marketing and has been at Macquarie University for 5 years in various roles including organising Open Day, an event with over 10,000 guests. Alisha held the position of Youth Ambassador for Blacktown City and is passionate about the benefits of leadership roles and it's impact on the development of young people.
